HERBALISM

As a clinical herbalist, I work as a herbal and health consultant for companies, as well as, an educational specialist. I am available for clinical and company consultation needs, clinical research and product development. I am also available to teach courses and classes. Please scroll down for more information.

I began my training at University of Vermont with various herbalism and plant science courses, which then led to my herbal apprenticeship with Spoonful Herbals upon graduation from college. I studied underneath renowned herbalists Kate Westdijk, Barbara Raab and took classes with Guido Masé. I interned with Guido’s company, Urban Moonshine. As my research continued, I became an avid wild plant forager and later received a Masters of Science in Ethnobotany from University of Kent. I am a licensed herbalist with Gaia Herbs, Hawaii Pharm, PhytoMed, MediHerb, and Kerrindale / Claridges Botanicals. Certified and insured with International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).

 
 

MyMoonbox - Working as lead herbalist for the Moonbox program and subscription boxes, which empowers and teaches women how to regulate and learn more about their hormones. Working as a remote on-call herbalist to answer any customer questions and consult on related issues. 

Flower Infusions - Founder of New Zealand’s first herbal smoking brand, made with only legal, organic herbs. The company sold three blends of loose leaf bags and pre-rolled packs of biodegradable smokes in 100% recyclable materials. Made a conscious effort to keep as little of an environmental footprint as possible is a priority. Sold worldwide and available via Facebook, Instagram and Website.

Laka Living - Educational master herbalism series via Instagram Live TV, teaching thousands of viewers about herbs and healthy lifestyle habits. Part 2 of the video series posted here.

The Herbal Dispensary - Providing individualized nutrition and lifestyle advice as an herbal consultant. Assessing clients' illnesses, needs and specific problems and created personalized treatment plans. Creating Customized health tonics in addition to dispensing herbal medicine, homeopathic remedies, and nutritional supplements. Preparing in-house, trade mark herbal formulas, creams, ointments, teas, tonics, recipes and oils. Writing articles for print media and website blog. Organizing and hosting an educational event with Superfeast Medicinal Mushroom company, and responsible for all social media accounts. Customer relations was a priority and the high quality of service resulted in many customers returning for ongoing advice and support.

Classes/Courses

The Alchemists Kitchen - Currently teaching monthly virtual classes surrounding seasonal topics such as medicinal mushrooms, botany, sustainability, ecology, herbalism and psychedelics.

Restoration Retreat - Guest lecturer at Kama Hagar’s Restoration Retreat in Lake Arrowhead, California. I taught over 16 women about how to implement herbalism into their daily lives, while also lecturing about natural healing methods to help restore the body.

Traditional Gastronomy - Guest teacher at Mia Wasilevich's Transitional Gastronomy Course, teaching about making herbal hydrosols with elderflowers. Taught a group of 10 students and located at Cottonwood Farms. I continued wild foraging work with Mia for many months after.

Assistant Professor - Taught college students during weekly labs/discussion seminars, led field trips, implemented lab activities, and graded weekly homework assignments. Attended lectures while monitoring attendance for 250 students. Managed Web CT/Blackboard tools, attended mandatory weekly meetings, monitored and graded exams, and other support work.
